Unikernels: Specialized Applications for Cloud and IoT - Docker Online Meetup #31
Explore the innovative world of unikernels in this Docker Online Meetup. Learn how these highly specialized, single-purpose applications combine application code with only essential operating system components, resulting in portable solutions with smaller footprints and faster boot times. Discover the benefits of integrating Docker's familiar tooling and portability with next-generation unikernel technology, creating a flexible platform for building, shipping, and running distributed applications across various infrastructures. Delve into traditional approaches, development workflows, and a live demo presented by Richard Moore. Gain insights into networking, production environments, hardware considerations, and the differences between micro and monolithic kernels. Address concerns about library maintenance, debugging, troubleshooting, application development, and networking in the context of unikernels. Conclude with a comprehensive recap and engage in a Q&A session to deepen your understanding of this cutting-edge technology. Read more
