The Little IoT Agent (Liota) - Open-Source IoT Gateway Development Platform
Explore the open-source project "The Little IoT Agent (liota)" in this 46-minute conference talk by Greg Bolella from VMware. Dive into the VMware IoT team's vision for an open, vendor-neutral, and easily portable IoT gateway development platform. Learn about liota's key features, including support for meta-data, diverse sensor and actuator integration, and data orchestration components. Discover the project's skeletal abstractions for gateway hardware, OS, transforms, transports, and data-center components. Examine implementations for VMware's vRealize Ops Manager, socket and websocket transports, and metrics handling. Gain insights from the liota hackathon and explore topics such as building a management suite, abstract classes, device communications, registration, package manager, UDM, and simulation environments.
