L3AF - Complete Lifecycle Management of eBPF Programs
Explore the complete lifecycle management of eBPF programs in this 19-minute conference talk by Santhosh Fernandes from Walmart. Learn about L3AF, an open-source project developed at Walmart that provides a control plane for managing eBPF programs across multiple hosts. Discover how the L3AF daemon monitors and chains eBPF programs, executes them in a predefined sequence, and performs CRUD operations based on host-specific configurations. Gain insights into how the daemon leverages Cilium's eBPF library to read eBPF maps and generate program-specific metrics. Understand the goals of L3AF in creating a fully integrated software ecosystem around eBPF to promote community adoption across platforms. Explore the open-source nature of L3AF under the Linux Foundation and learn about the active community working on new features for this project.
