73,000 Pods a Day - Lessons from Misadventures in Multi-Tenant Kubernetes
Explore real-world insights from a conference talk on managing large-scale multi-tenant Kubernetes applications in production. Delve into the experiences of Shane Corbett and Wil Reed as they share lessons learned from two years of intensive research, performance optimization, and monitoring. Discover the significant gap between Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) training and the complex knowledge required for running high-volume, multi-tenant environments. Gain valuable insights into unexpected findings that challenge conventional best practices and learn how these discoveries ultimately improved system performance. Benefit from the speakers' deep dive into Linux kernel performance, control plane optimizations, and custom monitoring techniques that enabled them to successfully manage 73,000 pods per day.
