Resize Pods In-Place Using Deterministic eBPF Triggers and Kubernetes Feature Design
Explore in-place pod resizing with deterministic eBPF triggers in this 33-minute conference talk from KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2023. Learn how to optimize resource allocation for cloud-native development environments by proactively resizing pods based on specific events. Discover the benefits of in-place resizing for long-running applications and its impact on reducing costs and improving developer experience. Gain insights into the current feature design for in-place pod resizing in Kubernetes, including CRI changes, design rationale, and trade-offs. Understand how eBPF can be leveraged to capture events and trigger pod resizing, particularly in remote development scenarios. Explore the potential of combining in-place pod resize with eBPF and BPF maps for innovative resource management solutions.
