Introduction to Kube-VIP - Bare Metal Load Balancing for Kubernetes
Explore a practical demonstration of kube-vip, a Kubernetes Virtual IP and Load-Balancer solution, in this 51-minute video featuring Dan Finneran. Dive into the world of bare metal and edge Kubernetes environments as the hosts discuss and showcase Plunder, a single-binary server designed for easier provisioning of servers, platforms, and applications. Learn about the challenges of bare metal Kubernetes compared to managed services, and witness hands-on demonstrations of VIP for Kubernetes Control Plane High Availability (HA) and load balancing Kubernetes services using LoadBalancer service with DHCP and BGP. Gain insights into real-world scenarios, including an anecdote about taking down a hotel network, and discover how kube-vip provides a self-contained and highly available option for Arm, embedded, and IoT environments.
