The Unbearable Weight of Glue - Tackling Complexity in Software Development
Explore the hidden complexity of glue code in software development through this insightful conference talk from Lambda Days 2023. Delve into how type-safe functional programming can expose and address this often-overlooked issue, with a focus on projects within the Elm community. Discover the concept of "semantic boundaries" that contribute to complexity, and learn how functional programming and type-safety can help manage these challenges. Gain valuable insights into emerging projects, including a $1BN valuation company's approach to complex interoperability with Elm and an Elm static site generator that simplifies intra-system integration. Engage in a unique, interactive experience as the audience shapes the dialogue and live slides throughout the presentation, all while exploring a live platform built using the techniques discussed in the talk.
