Deploying Virtual Network Functions with Kubernetes Pods and VMs
Learn about deploying Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) using Kubernetes pods and virtual machines in this 47-minute conference talk from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). Explore the differences between VNFs and Cloud Native Network Functions (CNFs), and understand the benefits of VNFs. Dive into the performance aspects of VNF applications and discover Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) technology. Gain insights into SR-IOV plugins, configurations, and specifications. Understand OpenVSwitch definition and its diagrammatic representation. Explore Kubernetes Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) support and host configuration. Conclude with a comprehensive overview and a practical demonstration, complete with a template for implementation.
