Design More Decoupled Services with One Weird Trick
Discover a revolutionary approach to designing decoupled services in this insightful conference talk from NDC Oslo 2024. Explore the persistent challenge of determining the appropriate amount of data to pass between system components, whether through APIs or events. Learn how excessive parameters lead to increased coupling, while passing only identifiers often results in hidden dependencies. Uncover Udi Dahan's innovative "one weird trick" that transforms the design space, enabling services to achieve significantly higher levels of decoupling and data encapsulation. Gain valuable insights into creating more robust and maintainable microservices architectures, and witness the surprising outcomes of this unconventional approach to software design.
