Unleashing the Power of WASM: Revolutionizing Database Scalability and Application Architectures
Explore the revolutionary potential of WebAssembly (WASM) in transforming database scalability and application architectures in this 39-minute conference talk. Delve into the current landscape of WASM usage in production databases and discover how it addresses the long-standing question of compute locality relative to storage. Learn how WASM can liberate databases from conventional architectural constraints, paving the way for next-generation hybrid application architectures that offer improved responsiveness, lower costs, and enhanced data privacy. Gain insights from RJ Atwal, a founding engineer at MotherDuck and experienced database professional, as he shares his expertise on this cutting-edge technology and its implications for the future of database systems.
