Storage Attached Indexes for Cassandra - CEP-7
Explore the innovative Storage Attached Indexing (SAI) solution for Apache Cassandra in this informative conference talk. Delve into the limitations of Cassandra's legacy indexing and discover how SAI, based on CEP-7, addresses these challenges. Learn about SAI's architecture, which incorporates ideas from Lucene and Trie Memtable data structures, providing a robust indexing solution for literal and numeric data types. Examine the in-memory and on-disk indexing processes, and understand how attaching the index to Memtable and SSTable enhances robustness and simplifies operations. Gain insights into SAI's advanced capabilities, including range queries and multi-index querying. Conclude with a glimpse into the future developments of SAI beyond the current CEP implementation.
