Hydroepidemiology - Understanding Connections Between Hydrology and Human Health - Part 2
Explore a comprehensive conference session from the AGU Fall Meeting 2012 focusing on hydroepidemiology and the connections between hydrology and human health. Delve into eight presentations covering a range of topics, including spatially explicit models for waterborne disease prediction, the impact of climate change on malaria transmission in West Africa, and rainfall patterns' influence on cholera outbreaks in Africa. Examine hydroclimatological controls of endemic and non-endemic cholera, compare cholera and shigellosis population dynamics in Bangladesh, and investigate land use change effects on malaria vector abundance in Ethiopia. Learn about coupling ground biosensor networks with satellite observations for Leptospirosis assessment and explore hydroclimatic extremes' impact on cholera dynamics in the 21st century. Gain valuable insights into the intricate relationships between water resources, climate, and various infectious diseases across different regions.
