The Neural Basis of Consciousness

The Neural Basis of Consciousness

Explore the neural foundations of consciousness in this 55-minute lecture by Christof Koch from the Allen Institute for Brain Science and Tiny Blue Dot Foundation. Delve into contrasting background conditions, the roles of the spinal cord, cerebellum, and cortex in consciousness, and examine different types of neurons. Investigate which parts of the cortex are involved, with a focus on the visual cortex and its stimulation. Consider consciousness in other beings, touch on Scientology's perspective, and explore inner phenomenology. Examine corollaries and theories related to consciousness, and discuss the relationship between intelligence and consciousness.
