Parity Staff Notation for Music - Mathematics and Music

Explore a simplified musical system called Parity Staff Notation (PSN) in this 29-minute video lecture by N J Wildberger. Learn how PSN removes the need for sharps and flats, treats treble and bass clefs identically, and offers a keyboard-neutral approach to music notation. Discover how this innovative system can be implemented using standard music notation or even a simple lined notebook. Gain insights into how PSN simplifies the understanding of scales and chords, potentially revolutionizing our comprehension of music theory. This lecture is part of the Mathematics and Music series, demonstrating the fascinating intersection between mathematical concepts and musical structures.
