Global Catastrophic and Existential Risks - The Weightiest Complex Phenomena?

Global Catastrophic and Existential Risks - The Weightiest Complex Phenomena?

Explore the complex world of global catastrophic and existential risks in this thought-provoking lecture by Anders Sandberg from the University of Oxford. Delve into the historical realization that our world is constantly changing and how humanity itself could be the cause of its own demise. Examine the emerging interdisciplinary field studying these low-probability, high-impact risks and their commonalities. Discover how understanding complex dynamics may be key to mitigating these risks and ensuring a more positive future. Gain insights into the overlap between these risks and questions of complexity in the systems that generate or respond to them.
