Component Systems: Understanding Complex Systems Through Building Blocks

Explore a seminar on component systems, complex structures composed of well-defined building blocks from a heterogeneous shared set. Delve into examples ranging from Lego sets to genomes, and discover how these systems can be understood through a common theoretical framework and data analysis tools. Examine empirical data from various contexts including genomics, ecology, quantitative linguistics, and technological systems. Learn about the main trends and current state of modeling efforts in this field, as presented by Marco Cosentino Lagomarsino from Sorbonne University, Paris.
