The Conceptual Framework of Urban Scaling - 2014
Explore the conceptual framework of urban scaling in this insightful lecture by Geoffrey West, presented at the Santa Fe Institute's Annual Science Board Symposium and Meeting on Complexity: Theory and Practice. Delve into the fascinating world of urban development and growth patterns, examining how cities evolve and adapt over time. Gain a deeper understanding of the mathematical and theoretical principles underlying urban scaling, and discover how these concepts can be applied to real-world urban planning and policy-making. Learn about the interconnections between various urban systems, including infrastructure, economics, and social dynamics, and how they contribute to the overall scaling behavior of cities. Engage with cutting-edge research and ideas that challenge traditional notions of urban development and offer new perspectives on the future of our cities.
