Topology of Networks in Generalized Musical Spaces

Topology of Networks in Generalized Musical Spaces

Explore the intricate world of musical networks in this 1-hour 28-minute lecture from the Santa Fe Institute. Delve into the concepts of deterministic networks, pitch classes, and musical set theory. Examine super set spaces, voice leading, and the relationships between distances, weights, and scales. Analyze chord progressions using advanced tools and study Coltrane's Giant Steps as a practical example. Investigate rhythmic spaces, notation systems, duration, color, and perception in music. Gain a deeper understanding of the complex topology underlying musical structures and their interconnections in generalized musical spaces.
