On Sofic Approximations of Non Amenable Groups

Explore a 49-minute lecture by Benjamin Hayes from the University of Virginia on sofic approximations of non-amenable groups. Delivered as part of the Workshop on Operator Algebras and Applications: Groups and Group Actions at the Fields Institute on October 3, 2023, this talk delves into advanced mathematical concepts. Gain insights into the intersection of group theory and operator algebras, and understand how sofic approximations apply to non-amenable groups. Access the abstract for more detailed information on the talk's content and context within the broader Thematic Program on Operator Algebras and Applications.
