Steve Scheirer - Relative Topological Complexity and Configuration Spaces

Explore the concept of relative topological complexity and its applications to configuration spaces in this 50-minute lecture by Steve Scheirer. Delve into joint work with Bryan Boehnke and Shuhang Xue as the speaker introduces key definitions, standard results, and homotopy invariance. Learn about the challenges in configuration spaces and examine various solutions, including a more general approach. Gain insights into this advanced topic in applied algebraic topology through detailed examples and a comprehensive outline covering everything from basic definitions to complex problem-solving techniques.
