Waists, Widths and Symplectic Embeddings

Waists, Widths and Symplectic Embeddings

Explore the fascinating world of symplectic geometry in this 24-minute conference talk by Jonathan J. Zhu from Princeton University. Delve into the concepts of waists and widths as measures of manifold size in relation to submanifold families. Discover area estimates for minimal submanifolds and their applications to quantitative symplectic camels. Gain insights into key topics such as symplectic embeddings, manifolds, tensors, maps, noncollapsing, push forward, foliation theorems, and widths. Recorded at IPAM's Calculus of Variations in Probability and Geometry Workshop, this presentation offers a deep dive into advanced mathematical concepts for those interested in symplectic geometry and related fields.
