Arrays and Matrices - Data Structures in Mathematics Math Foundations | NJ Wildberger
Explore the fundamental concepts of arrays and matrices as two-dimensional data structures in this 28-minute mathematics lecture. Learn how arrays are defined as lists of lists, a standard practice in computer science and programming. Delve into the distinction between arrays and matrices, offering a novel perspective on linear algebra aligned with computational approaches. Examine two-dimensional arrays and extend the concept to three-dimensional structures. Discover how to define and work with array entries, understand the notation for describing array dimensions, and visualize arrays as arrangements of entries in a 3D box. Gain insights into the versatile nature of arrays and their representation as nested lists, providing a solid foundation for further study in data structures and linear algebra.
