Bringing Data Visualization to Backstage: Software Analytics and Developer Insights
Explore the integration of software analytics and data visualization into Backstage in this informative conference talk. Discover how to enhance developer experience through effective visualization of "software data" extracted from various tools used in daily development workflows. Learn about the architecture and process of extracting, storing, and presenting information, with a focus on the "last mile" of data visualization. Gain insights into the open-source toolset used for creating visualizations, including a demonstration of a Backstage plugin that incorporates Vega.js visualizations into developer portals. Understand the concept of "visualization grammar" through concrete examples, and see how these techniques can provide valuable insights, track progress, and maintain awareness of technical and non-technical issues in software development projects.
