Sexual Selection in Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior - Lecture 13

Sexual Selection in Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior - Lecture 13

Explore the fascinating world of sexual selection in this 46-minute lecture from Yale University's "Principles of Evolution, Ecology and Behavior" course. Delve into how mating success influences natural selection, leading to phenomena like sexual dimorphism. Examine the differences between intersexual and intrasexual selection, and learn about the role of honest, costly signals in mate choice. Discover how perception and polyandry impact evolutionary processes. Through six comprehensive chapters, gain a deep understanding of how sexual selection shapes species and drives evolutionary change.
