Geometry and Topology of Data

Geometry and Topology of Data

Explore the geometric and topological properties of data sets in this 50-minute lecture by Jürgen Jost. Delve into the concept of discrete metric spaces formed by data points with associated distances. Discover general notions of curvature that capture both local and global properties of these spaces, and understand their relationship to topological concepts like hyperconvexity. Gain insights into a new interpretation of Topological Data Analysis (TDA) through this advanced exploration of data geometry and topology. Ideal for researchers and practitioners in applied mathematics, data science, and related fields seeking to deepen their understanding of the structural properties of data sets.
