OTA DFU Without Compromise - A Third Approach for IoT Device Firmware Updates

Explore a groundbreaking approach to Over The Air Device Firmware Update (OTA DFU) for IoT devices in this 39-minute conference talk by Brandon D Satrom from Blues Wireless. Delve into the limitations of current DFU methods, including "OS DFU" and "Co-operative DFU," and their associated risks. Discover a novel third approach that performs firmware updates "from the outside" without MCU involvement, offering greater flexibility in host, language, and RTOS selection while maintaining end-to-end DFU stability. Learn how this innovative method can update firmware regardless of RTOS or language, and even facilitate switching between them, providing developers with enhanced choices without compromising reliability.
