Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry - 15th ALGA Meeting
Explore a 12-minute conference talk from the 15th ALGA (Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry) event held at IMPA in Rio de Janeiro. Delve into Sally Andria Vieira da Silva's presentation, which covers topics such as the Abel map for families, geometric methods, tropical geometry, and the comparison between algebraic and tropical geometry. Learn about the history and motivation behind the subject, the tropical Abel map, and the degree-2 Tropical Abel map for banana curves. Gain insights into the main result of local resolution and how different geometries are combined in this field of study. Access additional resources, including the event page and video playlist, to further expand your understanding of commutative algebra and algebraic geometry.
