SBI Supervisor Software Events - Challenges for Implementation and Supervisor Software

Explore the Supervisor Software Events (SSE) extension in this 26-minute conference talk from the Linux Plumbers Conference. Dive into the mechanism for injecting software events from an SBI implementation to supervisor software, which preempts all other traps and interrupts. Examine the interesting challenges this presents for SBI implementations like OpenSBI and KVM RISC-V, as well as supervisor software such as Linux. Gain insights into the complexities and implications of this extension for RISC-V architecture and system software development.
