Build a Modern FaaS Platform with Cloud Native Serverless Technologies
Explore the construction of a modern Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) platform using cloud native serverless technologies in this 28-minute conference talk by Benjamin Huo and Wanjun Lei from QingCloud. Discover the key components of a FaaS platform, including function framework, build, serving, and event management. Learn about the advantages of emerging cloud native serverless technologies such as Knative Serving, Cloud Native Buildpacks, Shipwright, Tekton, KEDA, and Dapr. Understand how these technologies can be leveraged to create a powerful FaaS platform, using OpenFunction as an example. Delve into the importance of event management for FaaS and the rationale behind OpenFunction's creation of its own event management system, "OpenFunction Events," in the context of existing solutions like Knative eventing and Argo Events.
