Learn about the concept of "modern Python" as a subset of the language, where dynamic features are discouraged and static typing is increasingly adopted. Understand how SPy's static type system is designed for safety and performance, while still allowing the use of Python's dynamic features at compile time through meta-programming and partial evaluation techniques. Gain insights into the ideas behind SPy, its current status, and how it reconciles the need for performance with the desire to preserve Python's flexibility and expressiveness.
