The Strangler Fig Pattern for Microservices Migration

Explore the Strangler Fig Pattern for migrating monolithic applications to microservices in this 20-minute conference talk from DevConf.CZ 2024. Presented by Shardul Inamdar and Deep Yogeshbhai Gandhi, learn how to simplify legacy modernization through a step-wise migration approach. Gain insights into the practical application of the Strangler Fig Pattern, including its pros and cons in a tangible scenario. Discover how to extract functionality from monoliths, address technical challenges, and consider human and procedural aspects of the migration process. By the end of the talk, acquire a better understanding and concrete blueprint for evolving legacy systems into a modern (micro)service architecture with an up-to-date tech stack.
