Earth Detecting Earth: Human Baselines for Technosignatures - AbGradCon 2023
Explore Earth's technosignatures and their potential for exoplanet detection in this 14-minute conference talk from AbGradCon 2023. Delve into Macy Huston's presentation on "Earth detecting Earth: Human Baselines for Technosignatures," which examines various forms of technological signals that could be detectable from space. Learn about the Ignoscale, intermittent celestially targeted radio transmissions, untargeted leakage, persistent omnidirectional radio leakage, intermittent targeted laser leakage, exoplanetary pollutants, and city lights. Gain insights into how these human-made signatures could inform the search for extraterrestrial intelligence and contribute to our understanding of potential technological civilizations on other planets.
