Clusters Without a Personality - GitOps for Multi-Cluster Management
Explore the concept of managing multiple Kubernetes clusters efficiently through GitOps in this 13-minute conference talk from PlatformCon 2023. Dive into the decisions and tradeoffs involved in building a platform on Kubernetes using GitOps as the core. Learn how to create a fleet of fungible Kubernetes clusters, or "clusters without a personality," to scale cluster management without increasing configuration complexity. Discover how Continuous Deployment systems built with GitOps can simplify multi-cluster environments by defining cluster states based on labels, abstracting focus from unique clusters to easily replaceable cluster profiles. Watch demonstrations showcasing the mechanics of promoting new clusters to a fleet, and gain insights into building a scalable and manageable Kubernetes infrastructure for containerized applications.
