A Multifaceted Memory Analysis of Java Benchmarks

Explore an in-depth study of memory behavior in Java benchmarking suites through this 19-minute conference talk from MPLR 2023. Dive into a comprehensive analysis of 30 Dacapo and Renaissance applications using a two-faceted profiling methodology. Gain insights into object allocations, object accesses, LLC, and main memory pressure through high-level and low-level metrics obtained via NUMAProfiler and PerfUtil in MaxineVM. Understand the classification of applications based on their memory intensity and examine the JVM's impact on application memory behavior. Learn how this research contributes to interpreting experimental results and evaluating novel features in managed runtime systems.
