Flexible Data Placement (FDP) in NVMe Storage - Overview and Implementation
Join a technical presentation where Mike Allison, alongside experts from Google and Meta, explores the ratified NVM Express® (NVMe®) TP4146 Flexible Data Placement (FDP) technology. Learn how to maximize SSD performance through lower Write Amplification Factor (WAF), extended endurance, and improved write capabilities. Master the configuration and enablement of FDP, discover effective management of FDP resources across multiple namespaces, and understand the distinct writing behaviors between FDP-aware and non-FDP software. Gain clarity on the key differences between FDP, zoned namespaces, and streams while exploring practical implementation strategies. Accompanying presentation slides are available for download to enhance the learning experience.
