Cloud Native Virtual DPDK Cell Site Router for 5G ORAN Networks
Learn about the development and implementation of a high-performance cloud-native virtual cell-site router in this technical presentation from Juniper Networks engineers. Explore how DPDK-based virtual routers enable critical networking capabilities in 5G ORAN environments, allowing disaggregated DUs to communicate with CUs in regional data centers. Discover the architecture of Juniper's vCSR solution, which combines DPDK forwarding plane technology with their robust RPD control plane. Examine the pure-L2 mode operation specifically developed for 5G use cases, and understand how this solution supports vendor interoperability in modern telecommunications infrastructure. Through detailed demonstrations and configuration examples, gain insights into advanced networking capabilities, load balancing, DPDK application configuration, and performance monitoring through IO commands and statistics output.
