Color Operations for Linux Color Pipeline on AMD Devices

Watch a 23-minute conference talk from X.Org Foundation's XDC 2024 exploring the Linux color pipeline implementation for AMD devices. Dive into the technical details of hardware color management through prescriptive APIs, understanding how device drivers communicate color operations to userspace. Learn about the chain of unique and static colorops that correspond to hardware color management blocks, including implementations of 1D curves/LUTs, 3D LUTs, and matrices. Discover how kernel-level colorops are specifically implemented for AMD devices and examine IGT tests demonstrating the communication between userspace applications and the Linux kernel through new APIs and drm_colorops structures.
