Deliberate Architecture
Explore deliberate architecture in software design through this 44-minute conference talk. Learn how to step back from your system and evaluate its major structures and technology choices. Discover the pitfalls of ad hoc, responsive processes that can lead to suboptimal designs. Examine the importance of focusing on constraints and qualities rather than features when designing systems. Delve into topics such as fashion in software development, Gartner Hype Cycle, software architecture styles, biases, incident forces, and resolving to zero. Understand the significance of nonfunctional requirements, emergence in nonlinear dynamical systems, and the dangers of accidental complexity. Gain insights on monitoring, reviewing, and implementing deliberate architecture practices to create systems that better align with stakeholder expectations and vision.
