Starting from Scratch with Scala Native

Explore Scala Native's capabilities for systems programming in this 45-minute conference talk from Scala Days New York 2018. Dive into the basics of Scala Native, learn about CStrings, stack and heap allocation, and discover how to leverage these concepts for performance optimization. Compare JVM and Native implementations using Google NGrams as a practical example. Understand CStructs and their role in modeling data structures. Gain insights into sorting and aggregation techniques specific to Scala Native. Reflect on the changing landscape of hardware and its implications for systems programming.
