A NUMA Interface for Futex2 BoF

A NUMA Interface for Futex2 BoF

Explore the development of a NUMA-aware interface for futex2 in this 33-minute conference talk from the Linux Plumbers Conference 2022. Dive into the ongoing efforts to address scalability issues in the current futex syscall by introducing NUMA-awareness to futex operations. Learn about the challenges of storing kernelspace memory resources in a single memory node and how this affects latency for futex operations across different nodes. Examine the proposed interface for NUMA operations in futex2, and participate in a discussion aimed at gathering feedback and exploring ideas to enhance futex scalability. Gain insights into the future of futex development and its potential impact on Linux system performance.
