Device Namespace
Explore device namespaces, a lightweight virtualization solution for Linux-based mobile devices, in this conference talk by Amir Goldstein and Oren Laadan from Cellrox. Learn how to run multiple instances of mobile operating systems or other distributions in isolated containers, each with the illusion of exclusive access to device drivers. Discover the ability to interact and switch between these instances instantly, without flashing or rebooting. Understand the extension of existing Linux kernel namespaces, the concept of "active" and "non-active" namespaces, and their implications for user interaction. Through demonstrations, examples, and use cases, gain insights into the challenges and potential applications of this technology. Engage in a discussion about the future of lightweight virtualization in mobile devices and other Linux-based systems with diverse I/O requirements.
