To the Clouds - Why You Should Deploy to the Cloud Even If You Don't Want To
Explore the benefits of cloud deployment and service orchestration in this 39-minute EuroPython Conference talk. Learn about deploying Python services to various cloud platforms without vendor lock-in, including Amazon EC2, OpenStack, HP Cloud, Joyent, and Azure. Discover the advantages of local full-stack deployments using LXC or KVM containers, and how private clouds and MaaS can revolutionize server management on bare metal. Understand how automated cloud deployment systems enable rapid scaling and facilitate full-stack testing in continuous integration environments. Gain insights into managing service deployment and infrastructure using Python code, treating servers as cattle rather than pets for repeatable, service-oriented deployments. Watch a demo of a Django application deployment and related infrastructure, and compare service orchestration to traditional machine provisioning approaches in cloud deployment solutions.
