DevOps Risk Mitigation - Test Driven Infrastructure
Explore DevOps risk mitigation through Test Driven Infrastructure in this conference talk from EuroPython 2014. Learn how ImmobilienScout24 adapts proven ideas from software development to IT operations, increasing quality and reducing risks associated with infrastructure development. Discover techniques for implementing unit tests, integration tests, and system tests for infrastructure services, including virtualization, OS provisioning, and configuration management. Gain insights into automatically verifying critical configurations before deployment, testing potentially dangerous services, and incrementally improving test coverage across all operations. Understand the principles of Test Driven Development applied to infrastructure, starting with failing tests before writing code. Explore the use of tools such as Bash, Python, Unit Test frameworks, and Teamcity for build and test automation in IT operations.
