Don't Fear Our New Robot Overlords
Explore a conference talk from EuroPython 2014 that introduces GoldenEye, an innovative setup combining robotics, image recognition, and Python for mobile front-end testing. Discover how this solution addresses the challenges of testing on mobile devices by utilizing computer vision to detect icons and control a robot to interact with them. Learn about the advantages of GoldenEye over traditional testing methods, including its ability to work with real devices, perform actual touches, and integrate easily with CI solutions. Gain insights into the system's components, including openCV, Python's unittest module, and the Tapsterbot, an open-source delta robot. Understand how to write simple unit tests using GoldenEye's high-level API, making complex mobile testing more accessible and efficient.
