A Future of Value Semantics and Generic Programming Part 2

A Future of Value Semantics and Generic Programming Part 2

Explore the future of value semantics and generic programming in this keynote address from CppNow 2022. Delve into the fundamental concepts that have shaped C++ development as Dave Abrahams, a veteran of C++ standardization and co-founder of the Boost Libraries, shares insights gained from his experience developing Swift. Examine how these core ideas transcend C++ and can be applied to language design more broadly. Learn about the essence of generic programming and first-class value semantics, and discover how stepping away from C++'s constraints can lead to new perspectives on these powerful concepts. Gain valuable knowledge about the evolution of programming paradigms and their potential impact on future language features.
