Consciousness - Coherence of Modalities
Explore a 25-minute conference talk from the Models of Consciousness Conferences that delves into the coherence definition of consciousness. Examine the speaker's answers to key questions about the language of thought, the nature of coherence, and its emergence within systems and environments. Discover how structured nets and dynamic homeomorphic mappings play a central role in the proposed data structure of the mind. Learn about the concept of brain-spanning nets and their stability, as well as the consistency condition that defines coherence. Investigate the characterization of consciousness as a succession of globally coherent states. Gain insights into the implementation of this theory through concrete models of perception and its connections to mathematical concepts such as topology, fiber bundles, and category theory.
