Long Live The Honey Badger - Robust Asynchronous DPSS and its Applications

Explore a conference talk from USENIX Security '23 that delves into robust asynchronous Dynamic-committee Proactive Secret Sharing (DPSS) and its applications. Learn about the development of optimally fault-tolerant asynchronous DPSS that maintains performance even in the presence of crash faults and byzantine faults. Discover the introduction of the first high-threshold DPSS and its advantages over previous non-synchronous works. Examine how the researchers batch-amortize this scheme alongside a parallel non-high-threshold scheme to achieve optimal bandwidth characteristics. Gain insights into the implementation of these schemes and their competitive performance compared to prior work, especially in non-optimal settings.
