Climbing the Abstract Syntax Tree

Climbing the Abstract Syntax Tree

Explore the new Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) in PHP 7 and its impact on code execution in this 54-minute conference talk from PHP UK Conference 2018. Gain insight into how a basic compiler works and how the introduction of AST simplifies the compilation process. Discover how to leverage AST techniques for code introspection, analysis, and modification in ways previously impossible. Learn about the fundamental changes in PHP code execution and how understanding the AST can enhance your ability to work with both compilers and userland code. Delve into the wonders of AST and its practical applications in PHP development with speaker James Titcumb.
