What is Performance Driven Development and Why Aren't You Doing It?
Discover the concept of Performance Driven Development in this insightful conference talk from PHP UK Conference. Learn why focusing solely on Test-Driven Development may not be enough to ensure optimal app performance once users start interacting with your product. Explore common pitfalls in PHP development, such as relying too heavily on caching solutions like Redis for sessions and database queries. Understand why adding more caching layers, such as Varnish, may not address the root cause of performance issues. Gain valuable insights into how Performance-Driven Development can be implemented in PHP projects, shifting the focus from post-deployment fixes to proactive performance optimization during the coding phase. Walk away with practical strategies to improve your development approach and create more efficient, scalable PHP applications from the ground up.
