Uncovering Planned Obsolescence Practices in Robotics and What This Means for Cybersecurity

Explore the intersection of robotics, cybersecurity, and planned obsolescence in this 31-minute Black Hat conference talk. Delve into the lack of security culture among robot manufacturers and learn about the innovative "robot teardown" approach for repairing and understanding robot internals. Discover how traditional IT and OT security practices apply to robotics, and gain insights into the implications of planned obsolescence on cybersecurity in the robotics industry. Presented by Víctor Mayoral-Vilches and Federico Maggi, this talk offers valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in securing robotic systems.
